Most of you guys are familiar with CARF's Extra 330SC in 3.0m and 2.3m form, so it was obvious they would produce a version in the super popular 2.6 size!
I was one of the guys who started asking for it, as it suits the UK market well and I'm a rep for CARF in England and have worked with them on several projects.
The first 2.6m kit arrived in England today, destined for good friend Andrew Bird. I'm sure he'll chip in here as he's more used to being on FG than me having resided in the US on and off for a few years.

Details are top hinged ailerons, the Edge used centre hinged ailerons, but the weight penalty in the wings out weigh the benefit. Large ailerons and good movement cover aileron power. Twin inboard servos also keep the weight in and I expect the stops to be good!
Split cowl...all pre mounted, like the canopy frame reduces the work load a lot.
More info as we assemble this one. Its going to have a 3W 110 for power.

Colour options swap the Magenta for orange, yellow or a host of stock CARF colours

Ah, for those people with a strange aversion to logos the wing text is a decal that could be removed...

elev has counter balance and ailerons don't ? can't see good from the picture..

Any way a was waiting for this to come, have on order, also for the SU31 2.6 that will come in a couple month !!

The Yellow Kiwi was always my favorite. This is a picture of Chrisby's.



The only problem for aerobatics competition was that the bottom was solid yellow and didn't contrast well with the top.

The new scheme Andreas and I developed fixes that problem. I think it is stunning!!

Yes, the scheme is the best CARF have used for a long time.
Details of the Extra 330SC 2.6m will be on the site in the next 7 days with another scheme option.

No counter balance on the aileron, the wing is a bigger version of the 2.3 which works very well.

It's a race between the plane and the engine to see what shows up first.

- In lane 1, the container with my plane left at the end of February.



- In lane 2, the engine. Jeff from DA said they expect the mag cases to arrive in about a week. Then the case goes through some other process that takes a week and a half. Then they can put my parts in a mag case and lighten the cylinders.



We'll see what arrives first.
