Just bought myself an early x-mas present, I've had a few Tucano's in my time, this will be the biggest so far. Kit is due on my doorstep in 7 days. Can’t wait

Will be swapping out the air retracts for electrics, either Electron 40’s or Lado actuators with the original frames depends on the quality of the retracts when they arrive

Wow, very nice.
I may just be motivated to sell my TFGS P-51 to fund this one.
Now I just have to see if its available in North America.

Their website says the Tucano is coming soon, not sure what that means, but I just bought the Phoenix giant P-51 from them and had a good experience. Their warehouse is in Oklahoma City and they shipped fast. They told me they had a shipment of new ARFs coming from Vietnam in December, so maybe that's when the Tucano will show up.

The P-51 is a good one of theirs as well, I had to redo the hinges on mine though as there was too much slop, was an easy fix though

I saw your report. They must have seen it too and made some fixes, mine had no slop whatsoever. I'm about half way through putting mine together, no issues so far.

That's good to know, hoping this kit has had similar changes made to it.

Did you ever get the Mustang's tail wheel doors to work? I don't see any way they ever will, guess I'll put a couple of servos back there and give up on the spring.

I end up removing the doors on mine, I'd take a pic of what i did but I sold my mustang a while ago

Just spoke with my LHS, should have this one in my hands on Thursday

I need one of these but I cant deal with air retracts anymore. Any idea if there is an electric retract substitute?

there are a few options, none of which are cheap, I will let you know what I end up doing as I am also not going to use an air system.

my thoughts are either:
Down and Locked conversion of original units ($500US + shipping)
Electron Retracts and control unit (use original struts) - Modify wing if needed (EUR370-420 for tri set + Shipping)
Lado Actuators and convert units myself (USD360 + Shipping for 3)
Electron complete kit including 7075 struts, 7075 hub wheels and electromagnetic brakes and control unit (EUR735-785 + shipping)

My preference is Electron as I have allot of old friends in europe who fly 15-18kg turbine jets on those retracts and not one has failed them, only issue might be is if they will be an easy swap

I will find out more about the retract options as I build.

Update, Kit has arrived

I am still at work so only got a quick sneak peak but all looks in order and reasonably well packed.

Will try to get some photo's done tonight of the parts for you all.

good info pal. I will follow this thread. I want one but again, it will have to be electric retracts or no dice for me. Look forward to seeing your build

Not a fan. The casings are cast and I've got a mate who bought a set that cracked on a hard landing. They might be able to hold the weight just but not my first choice.
