If you want to put the CG on the wing tube, just put a loop of string around each side of the wing tube and slide your wings back in place. Lift up with the string. Be sure to have the canopy in place!

If you want to test it at the back of the wing tube, place the loop ends op your string around the front wing anti-rotation pins. Then loop the string back and under the main wing tube. Then lift.

My repaired ES 50 Pipe failed again yesterday after less than a dozen flights. I am gonna move on to an RE 2. Will gain some weight, but will lose some headache.

In general I would say it flies extremely well both on the wing and off the wing. Very stable. But it still flies like an Extra and not like an Edge. The overall feel of this plane will be slightly more slippery than an Edge. For me, that's a good thing!

What a difference there is between the flight of an Extra and an Edge, I had an Extra 88.5, now I took an Edge 92 but I still have to assemble it.

Picked mine up Saturday at Joe Nall, and first flight was today.

Well thought out design makes it an easy build. Impressed with the covering and paint job, amazing what EF has accomplished. It came in at 16 lbs, 2 ounces. DA-50, stock mufflers, ProModeler servos, two LiIon packs, carbon spinner and Mejzlik 22X8 prop. Power is very acceptable, pulls out of hover with good authority. Insane roll rate with 40 degrees of aileron throw, I may have to reduce it. Balanced right behind the wing tube with the two 2600 mah packs mounted just behind the rudder servo. A little on the tail heavy side for me, may move it forward slightly.

Five flights today and all went very well. Inverted flight is hands off, and tends to climb slightly on an inverted 45 degree up line. Very comfortable from the first flight. Even with the CG where it is, little to no mixing.

So far very pleased with the build quality and flight performance.

Would you mind elaborating on which promodeler servos you used? Looking at their line up for mine also.
Thanks,
Dan

This plane fits in my truck bed and ALMOST safely fits under the tonneau cover that rolls up.

Is it a bad idea to do a removable rudder? Is it a big deal to put one on and off?

I have too many other planes in progress.. BUT... I do suddenly have an old DA50 without a home.

Any chance EF could bring back the old red/white/blue scheme from the 91 and 60inch as an option for these new generation Extras? I like that a lot better than all these orange variations......

Decided to go with Power Hd B3 servos on the ailerons and elevator, a b2 on the rudder and a b7 on the throttle. Has anyone installed a canister on this? I am in between a can and a pitts style muffler.
