David Barcus here. It was Al Smith and myself that talked to you about having a 2016 contest in Rockford. Jerry Ream called me the other night to say it was being talked about on FG and I threw out the July dates he posted not realizing the NATS were at the same time.
Bottom line is, the Rockford Club is committed to holding an event in 2016. We are waiting for other Clubs, who held events in 2015, to firm up their dates before we pick one. We also have other Clubs/Events in our area we are waiting for dates from and we also has several events of our own already on the Calendar.

Hi David!
I was excited when we had the opportunity to talk about having a contest at the Rockford field. The Nats dates can be a bit of a moving target. Initially AMA wanted to change the date to early June. This would have thrown the NC contest schedule into chaos. As it turns out, they were persuaded to move the date's back to the same weekend at this point.
If you have a date that you think might work, but not sure, you are welcome to put it in the schedule for approval.

I have filled out the IMAC event application to schedule the Greater Rockford IMAC on July 23rd and 24th. Details and a flyer will be available shortly.

In the interim please check out our website at www.rockvalleyrcflyers.com. I think the picture at the top of the home page says a lot about our facility. We have north-south and east-west runways with permanent sunshades on each. We also have a 35 x 45 foot building with a 10 foot porch. The building and sunshades are on cement pads.

With dual runways the sun will not be a concern. Nor will there be a need to use alternate sequences. We have plenty of space.

That's great to hear! We really need to figure out a way to have a contest in the Chicago area. We have a number of members in the area within an hours drive of each other.

Perhaps I could post a tentative date/location and you guys could pre-register??
I would be more than willing to look into putting together a few high level pilots/judges who would be willing to provide instruction/tips on becoming a better pilot and/or learning how to fly precision aerobatics. Doesn't matter if you fly electric, glow or gas. Bring plane = Get better!
Pre-registering would help out tremendously with making preparations for such an event.
