Regional Final Location
In Western Canada we have been working at expanding both our number of pilots and quality flying sites with some success. One result is that the area our pilots are coming from is further away from our shared border which is now closed. We are hoping it opens shortly.
I have used google maps to determine the distance and driving times the majority of the regularly attending pilots need to drive to attend an event. There is currently no perfect location but Silver Hills is very close when the entire group is considered. If Silver Hills was selected for the Regional Finals some would need to drive further others less than they are currently driving but all would drive a similar distance. We completed a survey of Canadian pilots and they were unanimously in favour of Silver Hills. One added advantage due to the alternate sequences could be you won’t have to watch me trying to fly a rolling 90 it’s ugly. |

ONLINE judging school this coming weekend
Hello Everyone in the PNW IMAC community,
I'd like to remind and inform you all that we are having our yearly IMAC judging school this year on 3/6/21 and it will be held online ONLY due to COVID restrictions & border closures. If you go the NW region page on the IMAC website, you'll find the information on time and the platform it's held on posted there. I look forward with all of our other instructors on presenting you with an educational experience reminiscent of the in person school setting. I hope you can make it to our ONE DAY online session (9am - 3pm PST), hopefully we can get it all in, during that time and we will strive to do just that, but it may run a bit longer due to questions and clarification where needed so please be aware & prepared. We'll do our best to stay on time. Respectfully, -Gale |

Please login to mini-iac.org in order to sign up for this event. We will be doing sub sandwiches since food prep restrictions may be in place. But the club is looking forward to having us. Thanks Rick |

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for participating in today's judging seminar, and a special thank you to the other instructors who helped teach today's event. Again, thank you everyone for making the online seminar a rousing success. Thank you to all our Canadian brethren for participating. I look forward to see you all in the near future at our contests on both sides of the border if they open soon. Have a great day and keep practicing, we'll be in contest mode before you know it. -G |

Hello everyone in the NW Region,
It’s your friendly regional director here, wanting you to be informed of upcoming events in the4 near future. In the month of April, we have two contests here in WA, on 4/10 the Grizzly Bear IMAC in Richland, and on 4/24 Higgins Field IMAC in Richland as well. These two events are about 3.7 NM from each other, and about 6 miles if driving. In the month of May on the 1st of the month, Creston, B.C. is holding the Creston Valley IMAC contest. I wish the border was open, unfortunately it’s not yet. Looking forward to when it finally is, so we can hang out with the fellas from up north eh’. I’m still contemplating the finals situation, and it’s a hard call, I’ll keep you all informed on here and on the IMAC forums website as well. Until later, get practicing -Gale |

Talked with Michael and Gale and got the blessing from both - moving the spring Higgins IMAC contest to May 22nd being that there isn't going to be a Boise contest this year. This will also fill in the gap of not having any contests from the end of April till the end of June.
