Very nice job on the build. A lot of good pictures for people that build one in the future. They are the best flying cub you can buy hands down. The clipped wing version is very agile and not intimidating in the least.

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in awhile. I ended up with a pretty big hinge gap. The only thing I would do better next time. I wanted to ensure maximum throw, but I think part of the issue was using the bigger Robert hinges. I should have used the smallest ones. I plan to seal the hinges with sky blue ultracote this winter.

The wire loom is from hobbyking. But allot of specialty electronic stores will sell this.

Thanks! If the wing strut is too short for your work horses, (my wheels just barely had clearance to swing freely) you can slide a broomstick through the wingtube to create more separation.

Closeups of window screws

BAS - here are the closeups of the window screws.

The windshield has held up great. The trick is to drill the hole in the windshield slightly larger than the screw so it can move with the vibration, expand, contract etc. Also no need to crank the screw down too tight which may cause a crack, just snug. I used a drop of thin .CA in each hole and waited for it to dry. The friction on the screw has been enough to not vibrate loose, (not saying they won't ever) but it's not structural and easy notice if one does, so no worry. Check them once a season.

My top hatch was made removable using the same method of screws, I actually did some other windows this way for easy access late on. I got the screws from micro fasteners #4 , 1/2.

One other thing did you get one of the cubs with included Hardware . Mine was purchased when they first came out and didnt include any hardware. On my first build i bought all Dubra hardware identical to what u used. On my 2nd cub i have coming it include hardware and i have seen some photos of the hardware provided and it looks ok. I will replace all landing gear bolts and nuts with SAE bolts and locking nuts.

Mine was the first generation without control horn hardware. Everything else it came with was tossed too... The newer release came with proper control horns, which you now have... use those, they are solid, but everything else I would replace. Supplied Tail wire setup and landing gear hardware , go dubro. Bungee restraints on the gear should also be beefed up, the welds fail... cut them off and use a bolt.

Super easy just pre drill all the screw holes, the window plastic is strong enough, did not need any extra wood framing.

Robart make several landing gear for the cub that fit different cub sizes and manufacturers. Check out their web page they show dimensions also,
