If you are very confident that is not the motor then the excessive drag factor is the culprit with the pinion and main wheel being the first place I would go assuming you turned the rotor by hand without the pinion engaged and all is smooth with no drag including the tail drive. You confident that all soldered joints for the connectors are good?

i just ordered a new motor and esc, and i will send both back for repairs. however, the helicopter has a 10 teeth pinion and a 100 teeth gear. the shaft of the motor is longer than the pinion, and it keys into a bearing that is fixed on the chassis. i believe the mesh is preset.

when i get the new motor, i will do just that. as you suggest. put pinion on, but not fasten it, then turn everything and see if it is friction less.
thank you so much!

Your setup is the same as the TSA only the TSA has a slight adjustment built into the motor mount which includes the bearing pinion mount that is integrated into the motor mount. The TSA main gear is 126 and I use a 11T pinion. Your next planned move should answer your questions-----good luck.

Are you getting another Mezon? If so be sure to enable the telemetry as it should be able to warn you that it's drawing excessive current. With the V3.0 firmware in your Jeti, you should be able to automatically enable throttle hold if the current gets too high..
