Out of stock in Europe
Hi...
Lindinger, the Europe distributor has no red Mambas in stock. Last information with new shipping was late Dec but now there is no date announcement there. Bad time for that delay, because it's winter and all pilots will build new planes... |

Aura Professional
Has anyone used the new Aura Pro? I purchased one with my Mamba and was planning to use it in place of a Jetibox for redundant power to the receiver/servos, but there doesn't seem to be much information I can find on anyone using them.

In the FB arena any and all talk on the pros gets shut down. There is some sort of glitch where they won’t start up and/or be recognized with the app. It appears to be both the 8 and 12 and all is hush hush once any discussion is cut off. Not cool!

Well, that explains why I can't find anything about them, thanks for the top secret info!
I'm starting to wonder what's going on with Flex and their products. They are still selling these, I just got mine recently, and they know they don't work? This sounds like the same approach as the servos, they know there is an issue but won't admit it and try make everyone believe it's all just normal? I now have a pile of Flex electronics that don't work. Hopefully they are not just going to stiff their customers with this stuff. I'm still hopeful Quique has more integrity than that. |

So, the weather was too good today (17C), a little windy, but that didn't stop me in maidening this little red devil. Maaaaaaaan this thing can roll. Ended up increasing my exp to 45% on all surfaces on low rates and didn't have the guts to fly it on high rates. I'm just not used to fly with such aggressive throws on ailerons.
The good part is that the slop of the servos didn't affect it in any way and yes, i don't fly it with the Aura 8. It did some weird thing on startup on the elevator servo. After i pwd it on, it was blocked for a few seconds on pitch up but than it went in the normal position. Did that twice, but only on startup. Now for the weight. With the GP76, pitts mufflers and full tank, it has 9.3 KG. Don't know how you guys have them, but mine is a little tail heavy, 6 clicks on the trim. Its not that noticeable now that its trimed. Some pics from today : |

forget the number of clicks of trim, check the CG with the flight test. trim for straight and level hands off trim, then roll inverted, you would want to see just a slight drop of the nose while inverted. Then test on a 45* up line, roll inverted. it should continue straight for some distance then gently start to drop the nose.
Set up this way you will have very little coupling on knife edge and rolls will require very little rudder and elevator correction If when you roll inverted it climbs you are tail heavy and it will not feel right at the top of loops and be sensitive to elevator on landing. Dennis |
