Technically, I am very intrigued. I would like to try it.

Demon Aero are the US distributor, and Esprit Model also carries the gyro. I got mine directly from Demon Aero.

I think 3DHS carries them as well.

Years ago, before they were outlawed in IMAC and the TOC, a lot of us were playing with them. I don't think there's anything wrong with using them for fun/sport flying. They just shouldn't ever enter the competition arena.

So, with the help of my buddy we fixed the high idle problem on my DA50, and I'll be installing the gyro in the plane this evening.

It comes with some adhesive pads to stick the gyro down inside the plane. Being as the wood is porous, I'm going to glue a plastic platform to the wood that the mounting pad will adhere to. Once it's stuck down, it won't come loose. How do I know it won't come loose? We've been slinging these gyros around on 3D helicopters for years now, and they don't come off! You have to resist the urge to put a zip tie around it, as this will interfere with the gyros operation.

Some people are using these mounts in gas planes to keep the vibration down:

I was thinking of making something like that myself, however I've been told that it is unnecessary.

that seems like it would cause the gyro to not know exactly where it was?
