Anyone figure out a 2-1 Header Option for these yet? I want to run one with a Large ProFlow Canister. Do the DA70 Headers even come close? Does anyone make the Square to Round port adapters yet?

I have not had any trouble with my headers coming lose on my DA-70.

What I do is run the engine to get it hot , then re tighten the two header bolts again, nice and snug -- never come lose ........

Check with SupaTim, he's done it, he had a video somewhere, I think he was running a pipe though?

For custom headers, I use JMB out of europe. He does excellent work for 1/3rd the price.

Send him the measurements and drop you need and itll be done exactly right the first time.

I think that was on a DA70 if I’m not mistaken.

That may be, I couldn't find the video.

I just got my 76 mounted on my 92" Edge. Trying to decide what prop to get. I thought about robbing the 24-9 from my 61 for the first few runs, but wondering if a 25-8 would work good on this plane

So I carefully ask, how does this compare to the DA70 in power?

I’m considering the 76 for a plane that is a bit too heavy for the DA70. I in no way want to spark a GP vs XX debate.

The numbers I’ve seen so far have not led me to any conclusion because one or the other was not broken in.

Thanks

ROFF,

So my GP76 has almost 4 gallons through it now and I am currently running a carbon falcon 24x9 and it is ripping that prop. The airframe I have it in is an AJ Aircraft raven that weighs 19.8 lbs it absolutely ragdolls this plane around the sky. I will absolutely be installing a 25x9 to try out. Powerwise it is showing about 150 more rpm on the same prop on the top end with my buddies identical set up but using a DA70. Top rpm is not the whole tale though. Spool up and throttle response on the 76 seem much quicker and snappier.....that is gauged by the old subjective ear test though. There was a video on FB of two identical airframes and propped the same but one on the DA70 and one on the GP76. Both planes were in a side by side hover and they did the side by side vertical drag race and the GP absolutely walked away from the DA. So based on videos like that and on my own experience at the field the power edge def goes to the GP.
Reliability wise I have zero issues, no dead sticks, nothing.
And the final point is the price is so reasonable it’s hard to beat. Also Joe at aviator plus is a good guy and has been awesome to me over the past year or so I have been dealing with him.

If you look at the falcon prop chart for the da70 I believe the 24x9 is supposed to
Produce around 49lbs of thrust and the 25x9 a few more than that by playing with some numbers. So I think depending on your plane type and weight you’ve got a lot of power to work with. If you have the DA on hand you can always try it first. Same bolt pattern as the GP so it would be an easy swap if you wanted to change it out.

So far I could not be happier with my GP76 and am looking forward to more GP powered planes in my future.

I’m flying this engine in a 24x9 in a 92” AJ raven and it is wonderful. It does rip the prop and I am more of a slow and low guy so thrust is king. So I am going to try a 25x9 and see how that goes.

Im also waiting for a 2-1 header solution. The vid that SupaTim posted was a DA70 with re3 tuned pipe & 24x10 falcon. It made me by a pipe & 24x10 LOL. I would go with a 24x10 on the GP76

Looks like there’s a DIY kit, but my buddy tried this for his GP120 & it didn’t go well

Teflon IMO will be a temporary solution for the extreme temps gathered in a 2 into 1 Y connection.
