Question
Model Plane insurance cover

Hi All,

Just wondering does any one know what insurance company would cover our models in terms of being insured when stored, Ie in the home or garage?

My Current insurer(Shannons) will only cover airframes upto 1.5 meters in wing span.(Mine are bigger) So it means that a fully complete model is not covered as part of contents, Engines and electronics etc as long as there not in the model would be.

Any help would be great, I just think its good idea to have them covered as part of your home contents, as like most we have a lot invested in the models.

Thanks all.

Nrma cover models under sporting and recreational items. No restrictions. Have to be listed individually only if valued over 10k. Can be insured as portable contents to cover them in trailers and motel rooms etc.

However, I have never claimed. Best to do your own research.

Thanks for that,, Mine are 35% so not that much in value. Guess 4-5K

Im looking into it now, Seams many PDS files for the larger insurers all read the same ie, Does not cover models that are flyable or over 1.5 meter wing span.

Ill report back once i find out more.
