Question
Hacker A100-8 Prop Bolt Pattern?

Does anyone know if the prop 6-bolt pattern on the Hacker A100 matches any standard gas engine? Or just what it is? It doesn't match my DA's (29mm circle, I think) so I'm going to need to get a new drill jig.

Thanks,
Marty

It is different !!

Ok, after doing some more investigation, the bolt pattern on the Hacker A100-8 motor is a 30mm diameter bolt circle. The mounting drawing on the Aero-Model website shows it being a 29mm Bolt circle (and that's what they told me via email). But, checking the catalog page of the new 2011 Hacker Catalog on the Hacker website, it shows it being a 30mm Bolt circle.

I've checked most 85-120cc gas engine brands and they all show a 29mm Bolt Circle.

I find it hard to believe that I'm the first to encounter this difference.

Looks like I will need to ream out my holes by 1mm each to make these work. I knew there would be challenges to this project, but I never dreams something that should be so simple, isn't.

That is really odd if they used a non-standard mounting dimension. My A80 is the same as a DA 50.

Yep, odd in deed. The DA50 is a 30mm bolt circle.

I'm thinking this is an oops on Hackers part.

Did you ever find a new drill guide to work with your motor? I had the same issue with my hacker A100-10 and I just thought the drill guide I had (chinese knock off) was bad. I just ordered a new one from DA thinking it would solve my problem, but maybe not...

Nope. All are 29mm bolt circle and the Hacker is 30mm bolt circle. I'm planning on just using my DA drill guide and then reaming out the holes with a 1mm larger drill. I don't like it, but don't know what else to do.

Sorry your having the same problem, but I'm glad to see it isn't just me.

I also wish the center stem was a little longer as well. It's not long enough to go all the way through my Vess props.

I didn't have a good drill guide on hand, so I was going by the cheapo one I had and wondering if the drill guide was off or if the motor was off. So this weekend at the field I checked with someone's drill guide and spare prop they had for their DA-100. Everything seemed to line up fine.

So at least in my case, it appears it was just a bad drill guide I had. I'm still waiting for a new one to arrive in the mail from DA and then I'll know for sure.

I have used my drill guide for both a DA-85 & DA-100 with no problems. The drill guide is not the problem.

The difference between 30mm and 29mm isn't much and you must look very close to see the difference.

All I got from Aero Model was that it is 29mm bolt circle. It is not. I still believe this is a Hacker problem.
