I don't know about that the DA-60 is lighter than a DLE-55 and the DA-120 is lighter than a DLE-111.

.....and the DA-60 is more powerful than the DLE-55 just as I would think the outcome will be in the DA-70 and the DLE-60.

I love my dle 30 but I will be tempted by a DA35. Just hope it makes
It to retail some time soon.

Wish I could justify the cost....
How exactly do you know it will be heavier than the DLE? Most of DA's motors are the same weight or lighter than anything DLE is currently making. Do you have info that most of the people posting here don't have? I highly doubt that by the way.......

DA's support of the hobby and events all over the world are what really makes the slightly higher prices worth it. If you feel that you can't afford to purchase something from DA that's fine but there's no reason to post false info solely based on the fact that you can't afford one.

Any time a new motor comes out it always starts arguments. Let the fights begin. I'll watch.

I just don't get the DA hate that surfaces every time someone mentions them. I hear it every time I take my planes to the field, and I just don't understand. The only objection people seem to have with DA is the cost. Maybe I'm wrong, but that sounds a whole lot like envy to me.....

BTW.... I owned a DLE 55, and it was a great engine, BUT at an event a couple of weeks back, I saw a side by side comparison of the 55 and my 60 on the same airframe. The power difference was very obvious by all those watching, with the 55 being great and the 60 being over the top. I myself am a very satisfied DA customer.

I'll step down from my soap box now.....

The much requested DA-70 Twin will have many applications, 3DHS-89' Slick for sure, The new AW Yak 55 and maybe the AW Little Ultimate? But, I am sure it will find its place in the Hobby. Especially for the Rig's in the 27%-33% Range and for those who enjoy the smoothness of a twin and the reliability of a DA.
I Personally look forward to Playing with one.

Back in the Stone Age of the early 1980s, I had a new Super Tigre 60cc in line twin.

It was essentially a two throw crank, so the pistons moved in opposition and you had two power pulses 180 degrees apart for every revolution.

There was only one carb, which was between the cylinders. That made the front cylinder a rear intake and the rear cylinder a front intake.

Lots of power, smooth and yes, sounded wonderful.

As for cooling? Fit some baffles, which you should have anyway, even with a single.

No offense, but has the DLA been any better to you? I see you just started another thread concerning that engine.

My apologies regarding the weight I stand corrected. I had initially compared the 55 to the 50.

And in my humble opinion...there is no service worth $200+ more per engine for a 2 stroke motor.

Don't get me wrong, I want a DA, just so I can be a part of the "club", but not willing to spend the outlandish money required to do so when I have perfectly "running and reliable" DLE's that haven't ever needed "service" that I couldn't do myself.
