Gentlemen, Please call, or check this thread before you come here to Hook Field. There is a problem with the Skydivers and us. I was told that it would not be an issue. IT IS.... There is a chance to have the event move to an alternate location no far from here. If we do not move locations we will stay here and fly in between jumps. At best we will get two rounds in tomorrow possibly only one. So please call me at 513-371-2435....

I will update everyone by 6:00pm....

Re: NCFR Hook Field IMAC Challenge (Ric's Contest)

I lied it is after 6:00pm.....

Not the best day to be a contest director. The old addage "when life throws you a lemon, make lemonaide" will be the motto for the weekend. In order to be a safe as we can to people that are risking their lives by jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, it is my decision to not fly in competion when there are jumpers falling from the sky. Even though they are several thousand feet away, it is just the responsible thing to do.

We will still make an attempt to have the contest here and get flying in when jumps are not being made. We have radios with the pilots and we will know when they are jumping and when we have windows to fly. I hope that we will get 3-4 sequenced rounds in by end of flying tomorrow.

There is some concern about cost for the weekend. There will be no registration money taken for the contest. If you come and fly you will still get raffle tickets and pilot prize ticket for nothing. Come and hang with us, we are going to have fun reguardless. If we get enough flying by Sunday afternoon to feel like you got what you deserved when you come to a contest, I ask you to give me $20.00 donation. I do have some cost to cover and would like to recoupe some. If you don't feel like it was worth it pack up and go on and nothing will be said or felt by me. Believe you me, no one is more disappointed and upset as I....

They (Skydiving company) jump a lot more than what was told to me, so I am sorry that it has happend the way it has, but we will have lemonaide.

I assume pilots meeting is still at 8:30? Everyone "on the ready"... you gonna have an AIR HORN or something to indicate time to fly?? It will be like a "lemans" start at the car races everytime the air horn sounds - judges and pilots scramble to the flight line to get in some flying!! Extra points based on elapsed time from horn to wheels up!! just to make it a little fun...

TIme for bed, if I'm gonna be up at 6AM to be there for 8 to get set up and ready... I'll be camping, so leave me a spot!!

If you get 3 or 4 rounds in you will not be stopping the contest much. Best of luck I feel for you, sorry I cannot be there.

3-4 sequences = 1.5 - 2 rounds. Be tough but we are gonna try.
