HK Bixler, Dragonlink, getting farther and higher each time! Just shy of a mile here, scratching that itch of full scale flying with cheap models!

Very cool. That looks like a lot of fun. What's a rough cost estimate on a setup like that?

thanks, its not as much as youd think, but you need a bunch of other gear.

www.sierrarc.com is where I got most of it.

Would you care to list your set up? I think most people that take interest in it and consider maybe getting one together is somewhat scared in buying alot of stuff that don't work that great. My first set up work only wih in a 100 yards and was not worth the trouble.

Yeah, sorry, its on the youtube page, didnt think to post it here also, just off the shelf stuff.

1.3g 800mw 1280/1258
Dragonlink V2 UHF radio
IBCrazy cloverleafs
GoPro
HK Bixler
www.sierrarc.com
Remzibi ebay knockoff
Its a steep learning curve off the start, but so much fun.
I started with a 5.8g 200mw setup and it worked great with some cloverleafs on it also, buddy has had it up to 1600'+ and itll go farther no problem.

Is it possible to have it do an automatic return to base if signal is lost?

Thanks! Yes, I've looked at the web sites that sell that stuff but still didn't know what it takes to get the job done. It's kind if confusing. That list helps.

It all kinda depends on what you want to do, and what you want to do it with. There is a few different frequencies, some work in some area's, some dont, some work with 2.4rc, some wont... It takes some learning and parts/filters.

So is the video you put up what it looks like from your goggles or is it just the recording from the go pro that does not show any static and fuzzy stuff from the tx/rx

Thats from a gopro, this vid has some actual footage with what I see in it, quality is better on the screen I look at, my dvr blows out the picture and makes it suck when I convert it. You dont get fuzz in a good setup, Ive watched vids of guys flying well over 2 miles away and they are perfectly clear

Bixler FPV maiden testing the 1.3g gear Flown with Dragonlink (3 min 43 sec)
