My advice is go for it. This was also my first attempt at an air frame of this size and without detailed instructions. I have since built several other models from plans including a Hostetler Pitts S-1-11B and a Hostetler RV-4. The T-craft however remains my favorite and the one that garners the most attention at the flying field.

There is so much support on this forum that it's as good as having an instruction manual.

I decided to pull the trigger on this and started collecting parts. I checked Horizon and wouldn't you know it, they no longer carry spare parts for the Cub or the Decathlon - at least not the ones we need. I did find struts and accessories for the 1/4 Super Cub, which should work . I have a DLE 111 with optional canister mufflers for power.

I am ready to order the cowl and was wondering which wheel pants I should order that would look right and house big enough tires? I'd like to take advantage of the shipping charge I'm already paying for the cowl.

After payday I'll order the short kit from J-Tech and the carbon spars.

I'll probably start the build this next build season as I need to finish our garage and the "bonus" room (aka hobby room) before flying season this year.

The Super Cub struts will work fine they are already white is the only difference. I used the #63 wheel pant with 5 1/2" wheels

Thanks Dennis. A member here PM'd me and offered to send me his wheelpants that he decided not to use - does this hobby have great people in it or what?
Now to order the rest. I assume that when the short kit arrives I will be able to get the plans printed from the CD at a local print shop?

Has anybody covered their T-craft with fabric? I’m thinking of using Stits Lite although I do really like Ultracote. On a plane this size I think fabric detail would look great.

Hi Dennis,

What incidence settings have you used? I am completely redrawing this air frame to ude steel tubing for the framework. I have read all the posts and am leaning towards wing 0, stab 0, engine 0 down +2 right. I would like to know what you used and how well it worked. I am building 4 airframes so would like to get it right the first time, if that's possible. LOL

Hi John,

Use the numbers you posted and you will be happy. The second one I built has that setup. There is no pull or push on the down line. 45 degree lines are neutral.

Good luck with you build!

Dennis
