Re: Weird Europen plane
Won't be this weekend Devin, but i'll try and get a set together for you. For those of you wondering, its a foamy i've designed and buit recently. I've tried to encorporate alot of European F3P ideas i've seen into the foamy, for example, stepped leading edge, Elevtor doublers, sparless wing ect. Here is photo, sorry for the quality but it was takin with a camera phone:

Re: Weird Europen plane
Definately. Did you buy one sheet of each? 6 and 3mm?

Re: Weird Europen plane
You should get away with 6 all the way round. It'll proabably strengthen the fuse a bit better, but i wouldn't add any elevator doublers if you decide to use 6mm all the way round.

Re: Weird Europen plane
AHH Sorry. I was really busy with final exams. I left for vacation from school and forgot to take a picture. Its still in my dorm. It's pretty much identical but with a larger elevator and longer chord length on the fin. My friend says it looks like a fish! I even have thread bracing wires like yours too! Anyway, mine flew great, but I need to adjust the SFG's. There was some coupling with mine. I had MORE area under the wing to counteract all the fin and side area on the fuselage above the thrust line.
Anyway, sweet plane. I'll get pictures of mine when I get back if your still interested. |

Re: Weird Europen plane
Interesting looking plane. I'm looking to put something llike this together in the near future. Can you share any details, servos, motor, esc, AUW and anything else you care to share.
Cheers, Dave |

Re: Weird Europen plane
Hey guys, My setup uses HS-55's all round, AXI 2212/34, standard JR R700 FM reciever and a mgm compro 12 amp speed controler. AUW was 9 ounces, compared to the 14 ounces of my similar sized planes. I belive this is because it uses the rigging as a replacement for any spars. The plane flies great, without any twist in the fuse the roll rate is insane! The small elevator really allows the plane to tumble yet still flies precisely at higher speed with no hunting. The SFG's really imrpoved the knife-edge performance with no coupling as well as much more rudder power (knife edge loops with a 2 meter diameter!). I am really happy with this plane, it flies surprisingly well for such an ugly model!
