So, doing justice, it was just an AIRFLOW ISSUE! Covering the carburetor from propeller direct airflow, issue solved! I used an plywood plate, but obviously, using the engine cowl OR an velocity stack, the issue has to go away. Thanks a lot all the help guys, a new video was made to exemplify the issue.
Great Power 178 GP178 no RPM over 3400, AIRFLOW ISSUE! (2 min 49 sec) PS: I'll remove the plywood plate as soon as my Cowl get ready from the paint shop. Now all my engines are Great Power engines, GP61, 76 and 178, extreme reliable engines! Thanks guys, a ex-DLE and DA user. Cya |

Gentlemen,
Asking a favour. My new 178 did not come with a proper throttle arm, seems like its hit or miss recently if you get one or not. I have contacted AMR in Canada where I bought the motor, they in turn sent a inquiry to GP about it. I don't hold much faith that I will actually get the part in a reasonable time frame. All of the motors they have in stock right now did not have the proper arms installed either.... So if someone has access to the throttle arm pictured below without too much hassle can you remove it from the carb, trace it out and post it here as a pdf. Please put a measurement from carb shaft to each hole for scale reference and I will just build one myself. TIA Dean |

Thank you for the suggestion but I figured since I did not purchase this motor from him that he would suggest I contact my dealer, which I have and hence the desire to build a copy of the arm myself. I'll will shoot him an email and see if he has any spares laying around

I'm thinking of putting this motor on a 125" EF Lazer... Has anyone used a Falcon 29x13-3blade on RE3's? I've had really good results with that prop on a DA 200 on KS 95's and I've heard that the 178 has more power than a DA 170. So I'm wonder if anyone has tried this set up. I'll be setup for and flying IMAC with it
