DA 35 - has anyone figured out the routing of the choke rod???

Not sure the DA35 qualifies as Giant Scale however I thought I would ask anyway.

I have spent 6 hours now trying to route a choke rod forward through the cowl with the throttle push rod heading rearward into the fuse.
Wow! Just no luck at all. I
I started out with #2 ball links (for 4-40 rod) on each carb arm and there is no way they work. They hit each other as they pass.
I tried bending the choke rod to go more vertical and get it away from throttle rod but then it contact the standoff!
I have tried various routing and tried clevis's instead of ball links (not my favoirite) but again, it hits the standoff..
The choke rod cannot go straight forward as the engine crankcase in the way.

I suppose I could use a flexible cable in a tube (like the old Goldenrods) but that creates lots of issue with trying to mount it securely.

I really do not want to go rearward with the choke push rod and run it off another servo.
Airframe is the new EF Laser EXP 74"

If anyone has accomplished this please advise and post photos if at all possible.
Thanks!

I took the easy way out on my MX. I put a L bend in a rod and reach into the cowl and flip the choke lever with it . I can slip it into the hole on the choke arm then take it out.

With engine mounted inverted, mine exits straight out the right side of the cowl. Just orient the choke lever to desired position and tighten in place with TWO Allen screws (one in each hole) and it stays put. Straight pull out right side. I put a rubber grommet in the hole since the rod rests on it. Works great.

I put mine so it routs back into the fuselage. I start with the canopy off the first flip and then I'm good the rest of the day.

That was my plan if I could not find something simpler.
Thanks!

Interesting post as I am wondering how to operate a choke with a servo on my DA 170.

On my 35, I had to use the additional larger throttle arm to get the throttle and choke rods to co-exist peacefully.

Did yours come with the longer arm? Its taller and longer...so it sits further out than the choke.

Sorry just realized your is a DA. I has the same issue with the DLE 35. Might be an option for you.
