3W 50 Reed Problems

Does any one have a fix for the reed retainer on a 3W 50i. They keep breaking. I am on my 4th one and at 33.00 apiece I will have the price of a new engine in no time.

How tight are cranking the bolts down..they only need to be just over snug..use loctite 518 sealer .very thin layer and just go past snug ...sounds like you are over tightening the bolts

Thanks next time I will check to see how tight it is. I have had 3W install one and it still cracked. They don't have any idea why it keeps breaking them.

I changed the back of the engine crankcase and put a reed valve and a carburetor from the DLE 55 (60).
