horizontal stab incidence

I have a old bob nelitz kit j-3 1/3 rd scale , I am trying to find the correct angle of incidence for the horz. stab, this one has the adjustment bolt in the leading edge, I think its 2.5 degree up compared to wing to start with but cant find anything for sure. Any ideas?? thanks ,,,dan

I would imagine a cub wing is about 4.5 degrees from the datum/horizontal reference line (2.5degrees actual AOI). Full scale Cubs have a jack screw for the Horizontal Stabilizer Trim that's connected to the LE from within the Fuselage. The tail would be close to the Horizontal Reference Line (HRL) I'd guess? FWIW that would basically be the window/door sil. Might want to print out a 3 sided drawing and check it that way?
Just my 2 cents.

We built two of Nelitz updated (wing tube) Clipped wing Taylorcraft's and when looking at the plans, like AKNick mentioned the drawing show the datum line not what we are use to seeing the thrust line. The stab always in straight and level flight is the zero degree reference, so it determines if the aircraft fly's tail low or tail high.
Here is two reports we did about setting the incidence on our T-cart's:

Here is the other:

Also this is a another picture of our set up that shows the attitude of the aircraft in straight and level flight.

I agree with the cub tail fly high effect , this has the bolt to adjust the leading edge, guess I will fly it and see what it looks like in the air, and go from there. It shows 2.5 to 3 on my scale ( numbers are scratched pretty bad) I have a 1/4 scale champ and the incidence is 0 or flat with bottom of main wing. I thing the champ has a little more dihedral in wing, I know its supposed to clark Y airfoil. thanks for your help guys I will keep you posted of the maiden this week. dan
