Just got a txt from my hobby shop that mine will be in Monday or Tuesday. Can't wait, got everything I need to complete the build. The Saito 61 twin, the scale undercarriage, PBR Bush wheels. Might have it ready before the weather gets to bad.

Robert @ PR bush wheels has a "kit" for the Xcub. the wheels are 8.75". You can email him, tell what you have and he can fix you up. he is a very nice guy to deal with. I had just bought the Hangar 9 super cub and the Bush wheels for that plane when they put the Xcub out on pre-order. so now I have both planes with bush wheel kits. the super cub will sit in the attic for a while. the Xcub will get built first. will be picking it up tomorrow.
has anybody started a build doc on it yet. |

As always. I have received lots of questions about alternative power systems and the Xcub. I try my best with the samples we have to install as many different power plants as possible. To date. I have flown the Xcub with
Evolution 62cc single Power 360 Electric on 2 and 4x 7000mah 6S's Saito 61 Twin Cylinder. My workmate Craig Greening has kindly taken on the task of fitting a DLE 61 Twin cylinder. I looked at doing this some time ago, but I thought ( Wrongly ) that it would require a lot of cowling cutting for the cylinders and mufflers to protrude. As it turns out. I was wrong.... ( Again ) Craig did an awesome job of getting the Twin mounted and cowling cut neatly. He says that the front of the mufflers is just 1-2mm away from touching the cowling. With a spacer behind the prop to allow the engine to move back a touch this gap could be increased. The Plug cap just touches on the left side so he decided to cut it. I am sure others could work around without a cut being needed? The right side is completely enclosed in the cowling. I cant wait to get this Xcub back and start testing it. I do love a twin cylinder gas engine! I am hoping to go towing with this plane in a few weeks at the Cumberland Aero Tow event. |

On the subject of different power....
Keith Quigg from Australia fitted a DLE 55 RA to his new Xcub. Very neatly done. Especially the muffler solution. Regards Ali |

that would be something I would love to see. I bought the Saito 61 twin, I got some reservations about it. but Ali says its fine. I had the 60r3 on my EF 91" Yak and the sound was amazing and it flew the plane well for sport flying. I now have a DA 60 on that plane. I love twins. I would love to put a Valach twin on it. I also have a DA70 waiting to go in to something.
