Great information, definitely heavier and down low neither one really good, but the cool factor is there

Just add a pump and some of crankcase's nozzles.

I don't believe there is a commercially available smoke muffler system for that engine. Therefore you will have to modify and create/install nozzles for injecting the smoke oil.

Also, as I believe the exhaust temperature is lower on the 4 stroke, you will probably have to pre-heat the oil prior to injecting it to get smoke.

All in all, in my opinion, it probably isn't the best choice of engine to have a smoker.

Have helped modelers on several Saito setups including the FG61TS. Nozzles install in an elbow off the cylinder and then run flex tube afterwords. On 4 strokes I suggest spraying downstream with exhaust flow.
I have setups specific to Saito radials running Keleo ring mufflers. Super simple install with a no-weld kit adapter.
Here is a FG40 with a nozzle installed in a turbo header muffler.

Looks awesome. Thank you for jumping in and providing the info

Went to your website but to make it easier, can you specify the specific part numbers to work with the Saito FG 61?

Any smoke nozzle listed on the products page will work. Smoke nozzles are all the same dimensions and orifice size. 10-32 threads by about 7/8" overall length. Use standard 1/8" ID high temp smoke oil line. Nozzles are available in stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and brass for a remote connection hookup line.

For the 61TS, Installers were purchasing a pair of Saito 14mm threaded elbows and then drilling and tapping into the elbow itself to accept the smoke nozzle. Then using the Saito flex exhaust on the elbow outlet for the tailpipe. I believe I have some photos I can follow up with.

For no-weld kits- which are typically for 2 strokes running headers and canister mufflers as determined by your header OD pipe size. However, I do have sizes listed for 14mm which is for Kolm 4 stroke exhaust pipes as well as the 20mm Keleo ring which uses a thickened 20mm diameter ring pipe. The regular 20mm will not work with Keleo mufflers.

Feel free to contact me via PM here on the forum or email inquiry on the website for any additional questions or info.

The manual calls for servo arms using the hole 5/8” from center. There is minimal movement using that length due to the hatch interfering. What are you guys using for arms. Clearly the manual is not correct.

Craig Greening and other Horizon pilots brought the Cub, the 6.4 ASH 31, and a bunch of smaller electrics out to Prado this afternoon to see these planes close up and in some cases, play with the sticks. Below are pictures of the X Cub. Pix number 1 is the X Cub and its much smaller brother.

Thanks for the images and for having us at your field today. We had a great time flying and talking about some of our recent products including the XCub and the ASH 31.
