Bringing some new life to this thread! I picked up a nib Viking yesterday, and couldn’t be more excited about it! It has been quite a process getting one. Planning to post my progress when I get it started. Read this whole thread, and plenty of great info here. Looking forward to this!
Dan

can someone share pictures around the wing root area from the exterior as well as interior? Is there a gap between the wing and where it meets the fuse?

I picked up a used model which is in great overall condition but some damage around the wing area after a tree incident lol

if i can get some pictures i can get a better idea of the repair

I love my Viking! 8 flights on it and it flies awesome. I do wish it would be easier to secure the batteries, but otherwise, I love it. Mine is powered by a DA100 spinning a 28x10 carbon. It also has JR servos all around.

Project Update:
This is really a very easy airplane to put together. Its just big. Making good progress.
My setup is an ar20310t receiver, bluebird bls-43a servos on all flight controls, and a bluebird bls-1306 on the throttle. 1.5" servo arms from NWRC. Using two glacier 5000mah 2s batts for the rx, and a rcexl optokill switch on the ignition with a glacier 3600mah 2s battery. Spot on rc 4.5" spoked main wheels, spot on rc 1.5" spoked tailwheel. 32oz fuel tank from VVRC. EME 120cc motor on eme canisters. Falcon 28x10 cf prop and a 6” cf spinner I cut and painted to match.
I did change some hardware. Changed the aileron, elevator, and rudder to the dubro large scale setup, and replaced the 4-40 cabane bolts with longer 3/4" bolts. Added split lock washers under all attaching bolts and fiber lock nuts to the landing gear mounting in addition to the blind nuts. My blind nuts did not need chasing with a tap. Really happy with this one. everything fits like it should.
Motor is mounted, tank is installed, servos fitted to the ailerons, center wing is mounted and leads ran. Landing gear is installed. Will add some pics tomorrow.

Make sure you leave your AS3000 disconnected until your airplane is setup and programmed, If you have already messed with it? go back into forward programming and do a factory reset.

You will enjoy this model very much, it's a fantastic flying Pitts.

I plan to leave it disconnected for the first few flights until it is trimmed out and feeling comfortable with it. I did set it up to assign the switch and ops check on the bench. I will reset it befor I connect it.
Thanks,
Dan

Crossed pull pull wires or not? Heard some haven’t crossed them.

The Viking is progressing nicely. Motor is mounted, cans installed, ignition installed, throllte servo and throttle setup, cowl fitted, choke rod finished, fuel tank installed, and tail glued in place. Going to together smoothly. It sure is big when it’s all together.

FYI, in case you haven't noticed, looking at your picture, you have a broken prop bolt
