Your spot on. He didn't build up enough speed before rotation then the climb out was way too steep. from there she stalled and rolled over. Sorry to see that one go in.

he had enough speed at take off but he pitched up too hard or had a rearward c.g. if his angle of attack was not as aggressive he would have been fine.

I have seen many stalled take offs and they don't have this kind of energy leaping off the ground, usually the stall after 3-4 feet and come plummeting back on the run way.

so possibly took off with enough speed, pitched up too hard which resulted in a loss of speed, which then resulted in a stall crash.

That or the pilot panicked and just froze not giving input... Never really know..

He didn't use take off flaps. Due to ground stance and landing gear placement a lot of scale jets will pop up off the ground suddenly and if you don't catch it quick enough this is what happens. Most scale jets need take off flaps to to allow the plane to lift off at a more level angle of attack and helps prevent that kind of stall and crash.

Also, not to be picky, but the plane is a Cougar not a Panther. Same fuse but a panther has a straight will and tip tanks whereas a Cougar has a swept wing and no tanks.

It's actually not a Cougar either. It's a sport jet that took its design cues from the Cougar.. I wish I could remember the name but it's sort of based on the Bruce Tharpe Reaction..

If my memory serves me correctly, it is not a scale jet, but based on the F9F Panther and Cougar and is called a "Pantera".
