The 8 has the telemetry airborne pieces and a back lit screen and triple rates The guts are pretty much the same -obviously-as the DX8
Spektrum intends to own this part of the market -judging from the price and features.
At different fields I see DX5's which prooves price IS important part of the market
All these tx run the little guys ( bind n fly) plus have model match so that covers basic Spektrum exclusives.
This radio pretty well beats the Dx6i-for overall features
Judging from stick accuracy I find with the DX8's -I woild use these DX7s for any "pattern" flying.
Things just keep on getting better -
With fuel costs on going to from the field, exceeding fuel costs for flying - we need all the cost effectiveness we can get - one of our fields is 100 miles round trip-

Dick,

I looked at the DX8, but i don't like three position switches, and I am not in love with the size of the LCD screen. Telemetry doesn't mean much to me as I never take my eyes off my aircraft and use nothing but A123's. The 9503 is the perfect radio for me and fits my hand like a glove. If i want there are 2 three position switches I can use.

Warm Regards,

Travis

I know what you mean by the price of gasoline (or should I say Liquid Gold)

Your assesment of the radio is apparantly based on hearsay
if you don't want one, don't buy one.
We have three in the family - all work perfectly

It's great for heli pilots since most don't need 8 channels. Also it is a good choice for those of us who like the bind and fly planes and want a comfortable radio with some programming options but don't necessarily want to switch to spectrum/jr on everything.

And you base hughsey's assumption on what? it is a known problem, a friend of mine at our club had the exact same problem, could not set up a v-bar due to bad pot issues, radio was replaced by the importer with a Futaba.

Give it time. They all work perfectly until the problems start. The pots will go out on the ailerons and possibly the rudder too. Just a matter of time. Guys down here are having issues left and right. Horizon is well aware of the issue too.

St Geo flyer?
I am aware of how pots can fail and I will watch -as I always have -
Do I expect problems?
no
Issues left n right ?
really?
who exactly?
I suspect you do not have one and the fact that you do not mention a specific person with specific problem makes me tend to doubt your input
Nothing personal.
