The majority of the 100 - 120 class of engines use the Walbro WJ71 carb. There might be some minor linkage differences but the carbs are pretty much the same. DA makes some mods to the jetting for their 120.

Your rite there I notice that too. . All the 60's and 70 DA's I have run richer than their counter parts,no matter where you set the needles. But the 60 and 70 have a different no.on the walbro carb too, then the rest of the same size engines on the market.

Yes, the 60 and 70 use the HDA series carb. Hmmmm, same carb that runs rich in midrange on the GP61.

Just did so lookin on these carb difference. The HDA 246A witch is used on most china 60's and 70's out there. It has a throttle plate no. of 34-100 and a choke plate no.62-100. The DA carb is a HDA 840 it has a throttle plate no. of 34-173 and a choke plate of 62-74,and has a smaller hole in the choke plate than the 246A. I have tried to find out in the past what these no. represent but no one seems to know. The first no. and just a guess is the bore size.I am just guessing that the second no. is the jet size on the throttle plate and the second no. on the choke plate is the hole size in the plate? The DA carb is on their 60 and 70 and they both run richer than the other 60's and 70 I have.

On any Walbro carb I have ever replaced any parts on, the numbers stamped on the plates were simply the p/n. I never thought there was any significance to those numbers. Has DA always used the HDA 840 as I swear I read something from DA tech they once used the 246. Just curious.

I thought the 246 was a bit weak on HS fuel delivery depending too much on the LS fuel circuits for much of the engines fuel demands.

On both DA60's and the 70 I have all three have the same carb HDA840.They may have used the 246 carb I don't really know . I wouldn't have even known about the 840 carb no. but I bought a new one from DA and it didn't have the number cross out.
