Re: BME 55....its coming
Click on this link, it has all the info.
http://tinyurl.com/263ezf Basically, the new cheap engine is made domestically by Keith using foreign parts. It is a basic piston-port design and is intended to compete in price with the new Chinese engines (3MM, DL50, etc). The pictures look quite nice, and the RPM numbers look decent too ( BME Sport 50 stock muffler 24x8 Bolly carbon fiber 6600-6700 rpm 22x10 Mejzlik 6800-6900 rpm ). Not too bad for a $350 engine ($300 for pre-purchase) that includes a muffler, is very light, is NOT a cantilevered-crank design, AND is made in the USA. It is just another option in case people are looking. The BME 58 is not out yet because he is on his 6th design for that engine and finally has one that works the way he wants. He said he is machining crankcases now and has all the remaining parts on the shelf. I don't own any BME engines or have any connection to Keith, I am just providing the information. |

Re: BME 55....its coming
Wow guys. I didn't mean to get yall worked up. I LOL at myself as much as anybody. If you search my username on RCU somewhere around my 2000th post, I was one of the guys who purchased a new airframe and anxiously awaited the arrival of the 55x. Looking back I just found it humorous.
Never been called a troll before. LOL Actually, since I am new to flying giants I haven't figured out how to subscribe to a thread without having to post in it. I guess I could have been a little more proper. But come on Kris. Not a nice person? That was un called for. You don't know me from Adam. |

Re: BME 55....its coming
Good morning guys,
I deleted a couple of posts, KrisW's for name calling, wasn't necessary Kris, he thought this thread was funny, many do ![]() FWB, I only pulled yours because it didn't make sense after deleting Kris', there wasn't anything wrong in your post. I'd like to take this time to welcome our new member Crash90, and to also welcome our older member and first time poster Profile540. I will now close this thread, only because this engine will never be built, so further discussion on this motor would not be informative for any one. |
