Fact 1 - the Chinese have been working hard on their UAV programs for quite a while now.
Fact 2 - Most of the UAV fleet has had very limited flight time due to engine issues. Fact 3 - The two facts above are the real reason we are seeing so many "same sized" "New" eigne offerings recently - they are all trying to get a slice of that pie and are using overseas sales as justification for "greatness". Fact 4 - Pretty much any company that attempts to obtain a US Govt based UAV contract will struggle if they have anything "Chinese" in their product. Fact 4a - Pretty much any serious UAV company that purchases items based on price is highly unlikely to succeed in anything other than the very short term. Fact 5 - that UAV shown would be fairly easy to find when it is flying around - (58cc on a 22' prop) Question 1 - Is that "UAV" available in other color schemes? Question 2 - What contributed to most of the weight? Was it fuel load to get the 3 hours? Question 3 - Do you have any photos of transporting the launch ramp to the launch site? Question 4 - Was the 2000 - 3000 metre altitude above sea level? and what altitude was the launch site at? |

Fact #2 is the reason for fact #1. Fact #4 is illegal in the US.
Fact #5, If they need a 58cc engine to keep an 18kg plane with no payload in the air for 3 hours, they need to scrap it and start over. Answer #1, check Hobby King or SDS Hobbies. |

Fact #2 is very true! Very hard to keep any engine running good for multiple hours at 6000+ rpm! That is why we are trying everything! From a modified Honda generator engine to a custom built 3 cylinder engine using 3 85cc dirt bike cylinders!

I have to laugh at this thread.
Quote:
or just reverse engineer and scale up the below model and cob on a DA 170 EFI fuel injected clone. I mean, you're Chinese aren't you? The Russians schooled your manufacturing sector on 'Reverse Engineering' right? http://www.nitroplanes.com/projet-drone-2500mm-kit.html Actually a club member bought that NP drone for a hoot and is going to put a GoPro in the, would be; IR turret. I maidened it. It's actually is pretty neat. I told him I'd bet him 1K to fly it over the next Daytona 500. Fun! |
