I mount the ignition module similar to Mark, but I like to cut 2 slots
in the motor box top to run a velcro strap through. I want to make sure the module stays in place. |

Gas tank mounting and XPS X24 mounting plate
Here are some photos of the gas tank and some gas related pictures. Also shows the mounting plate I added for my XPS X24. It's a 1/8" plywood plate that I epoxied in place.

Some wiring pictures.
I tried to make this wiring install as neat and clean as possible. In the end, it doesn't look too bad. Instead of winding up extra lengths of servo leads, I made my own. I used PowerBox Systems leads and crimps. As you could see, I color coded the ends with colored heat shrink tubing.
I added a picture of the marine vessel color lighting standard for reference for color coding the tail servo extensions. How many times I forgot to mark the extensions on previous build? I can't even remember, but it is better to label them or color code them. I would also note that I trimmed and crimped new ends to the throttle servo lead as well as the Ultra IBEC lead that plugs into the XPS X24. This way they stay neat and clean with no extra leads cluttering up the compartment. The next few posts will be electrical related photos. |

More electrical photos
More electrical photos, showing my custom servo extensions. I threaded them through the servo lead tube as shown in the pictures.
I used a bamboo stick to get the rudder servo extension from the left side of the fuse to the right side. Then I finally installed the rudder servo. I went with the pull pull orientation that Jeff Williams showed in the manual. In addition to color coding the extension, I added a length of heat shrink tubing on both ends of each extension right at the location where the extensions enter and exit the servo extension tube for a little better wear resistance. Perhaps overkill but I figure it can't hurt. |

Yet some more electrical photos.
Perhaps too many photos but I figure, better too many than not enough.

My bud Yuri has put A LOT of time into his Laser. Tomorrow is the maiden & I can’t wait to get a pull on it. It’s a tribute to Leo. 😎👍🍺
