That's how...

Not trying to stat a motor preference contest, just responding to an earlier post. The PAU plane, according to the specs will be significantly lighter than my AW plane was, and I agree, a DA50 should be plenty of power if the specs are accurate.

Re: PAU 27% Bulldog

I saw it fly on the DA50. No issues at all.

Just like the PAU Su-26 though it would nice to see some other motors pull the plane around. On that one we've seen DA50, 3W55, DL50, DLE55, XYZ50, MT57 and that was all at just one field. And now we have a gent bringing in a Zenoh on the plane as well.

Always good to see how planes perform on different engines and at different weights.

How are the weights coming in? I was thinking of getting back into a 50cc bipe, and ran across this thread.

the listed specs are accurate - I saw the new prototype fly last Spring with a DA-50 and it was hauling it around like a foamy. My guess would be 15 pounds.

Yes it does; the new Bulldog/Challenger is surprisingly light. Shouldn't have any problems with any of the 50cc range engines. Those graphics that Jeff put on his plane are off the hook!

Re: PAU 27% Bulldog

I bought a used Lanier bipe a few years ago, stripped down and covered it in Yellow/Black just like the Jim LeRoy Bulldog bipe... even had custom decals made to match his (like the ones here). Jim was going to do an airshow late that summer near Atlanta, and I had swapped emails with him.. we were going to take a few pictures together, and I was going to get him to sign the wing of my bipe.

We all know what happened next. Terrible. I wound up selling the plane shortly after that.

15lbs is not a problem. I am a tad over 15 with the the Challenger with redundant battery packs. It feels a little over powered with a DA-50 and fun...haha. I am putting my Brison 40 this winter and trying that on for size.

Re: PAU 27% Bulldog

I second what Ken said! I have truly UNLIMITED vertical with my DA 50. I do not know the AUW of my Bulldog, and probably never will.....as I've stated before, if it flies this good, weight is an insignificant number!!!

Sam, Since when did you become so critical on weight, especially when it comes to adding a little BLING-BLING?

I think I'm going to order one of the Challenger Pitts planes... then let Bad Brad bling it up a little.

How much is the graphics package. I have one of these and the extra graphics make it look great. Thanks
