Question
Fields in Orlando area

I recently moved to Orlando, Lake Nona area and I am looking for a new club. The only active one I've found is rcacf but the field is a 40 minute drive for me.

I understand Lake Nona is close to the airport so dont expect anything super close but trying to see if there's a field with a 20-30 minute drive?

I fly 50-100CC gas airplanes.

Thanks in advanced for the help!

Go over to Graves RC on Orange Blossom Trail and talk to them. They will be able to tell you the location of all the fields in central FL. If you haven't already visited Graves, you need to do that anyway. Nice folks and plenty of goodies to look at.

Lake Nona is just about half way between RCACF and Polk City.
I don't think you will find something closer for that size planes.
I looked at this map https://www.ma-db.com/info.php
and noticed they still show Rocket City in Christmas: http://www.rocketcityfl.com/
That one is permanently closed

I guess my best choice then is RCACF.

I'm surprised there's only a few fields in this area. I would expect more based on having good flying weather year round!

Btw, do you sell PAU planes locally? To avoid shipping charges? Always wanted a PAU Extra.

Yes, PAU is a local company in Orlando. The warehouse is not a retail store but we can meet there with prior arrangements.

Thanks for the invite! Your field looks very nice and I will probably visit some time.

For now it seems I am destined to become a RCACF member. I do prefer having the option of grass field though

It takes about the same time for you to get to Polk City: that is a grass field, much less crowded, next to the Fantasy of Flight.

According to Google Maps, RCACF is 7 miles or 10 minutes closer.
