Hi Jerry,
i just saw your thread again, and i am very highly impressed in the amount of time, effort, and most of all: craftsmanship, that you have dedicated to your model airplane. it is one true work of art!!!

Really Jerry whats there number?? do they need a motor I will give them one of my hot rod motors
chassis work oh wait i can't do that no more sold the welder sorry.

I really think this would look so good coming out of the top of a nascar
of course they will have to move up the pit stops due to the not so good gas mileage and traction at 180 may not be to good but hey what more do they want?

Hey Jerry, how 'bout some pics of your equipment install (when you get some free time...) Any estimate of the all-up weight with your setup? Any concerns about balance?

Thanks,
Pete

It's the weekend and time to get back to the build.

The plane should be around 38 lbs complete. I'll get a better weight after all of the equipment is installed. With everything except the batteries and radio gear it's a touch to the nose heavy side. This is good; I have something to work with on the battery placement.

Today I finished covering the wings and have installed the servos in the wings and stabs. I set all of the control arm heights from the hinge centerline so the servos would be better matched. Also you see the control arms are straight at full deflection and a slight angle at the center position.

It won't be today. It will be ready to fly later today, but the last thing I want to do is to rush into the air.

I'm balancing all of the servos now and I'll get some pictures to post of the entire plane later today.

Maybe a live web cast for the maiden flight.

Here is the completed plane.

I'm going over the covering with an iron one more time and maybe fly one day next week.
