Electric, yellow with blue trim similar to the prototype, Ali thanks for the long nose, I hate adding weight up there.

They are now through the development stage and moving into production. No way abandoned. From the get go. I was clear that I would not give any dates until I was sure of when we could expect to receive stock. We are not quite at this point, but I can say that with all being well. We expect to have stock this summer.
As I know more. I will update.
Regards Ali

Coincidental timing

I know it may seem a little too coincidental. But after some time of no news on "Big Tim" This week saw a flurry of progress.
Not only did I finally get round to fitting the Xcub optional sprung undercarriage and giant tail wheel unit!
We also saw the arrival of what I hope to be the final production samples!
Not many changes in the way of structure and none in the way of Aero over the previous two samples that I have been flying. However. A whole bunch of small and subtle changes. Some of which I will run through in the following posts.

Regards Ali

First off. Some photos of it on the Xcub gear. I used the "now unavailable" PR Bush wheels as a test. Simply for sentimental reasons. Robert and I were working on this package for the TXL. He sent me samples and a lovely hand written note a few days before he passed. So it seemed only right to try a set on this gear. I am looking at alternative wheel options for the future. The Stock TXL wheels can be made to work I am sure. However. I know people will want air filled options?

What are your thoughts on the way it looks so far?

P.S The gear is an unpainted and un covered sample. The actual Xcub gear comes painted and covered red.

Regards Ali

New color combo. Same scheme. Different colors and combo. I wanted to get away from the black if possible. So I switched the red and introduced a blue. Still all genuine Ultracote and no stickers.
Oh. another plus point that I have managed to convince the vendor to include. All surfaces will be pre-hinged using heavy duty pin hinges. There are only the three rudder hinges to be glued by the customer. 24 hinges all glued straight out of the box !

Lots of color coded thumb screws are included to allow fully "tool-less" assembly at the field if so desired?

The Aerotow release mounting point and the servo mounting point for the A.T are now included. The Aero Tow from the Xcub should be a straight drop fit for those that want to tow gliders or banners.
Oh, and we had the factory fit double the size of magnet to the front hatch and for those that want the belt and braces approaching the front hatch. There are two blind nuts pre fitted that will work with the thumb screws supplied.
