Voting for pilots sounds like a popularity contest to me.

Should be an actual qualification system to come up with who is on the team if they want to go the team route.

Completely agree. Its almost like a good ole boy system, or popularity contest rather than having people send in videos. Even if they did it tournament style that would have let everyone have a chance, rather than this odd method, if they were concerned about getting in enough flights. 1st day could be a knockout type round. But the contest does not belong to me or any of us, so we can't say how they decide things. What worries me is this will sour a lot of people's thoughts on XFC and this will most likely be the nail in the coffin for the event. I can say for the heli competition segment it doesn't make sense to have 8 on one team and then 3 on the international team. How are they scoring that? This event has raised more questions than a few months ago which was a lot of excitement to see it back.

If I was one of the ones getting voted on I would have all my friends and family getting an FG account and voting for me. 100 votes will get you in to most of the categories.

I'm sure the organizer was just thought this would be a fun way of doing things, but clearly it did not play out that way... I think they will be receptive to comments and likely have another way of doing it next year.

I see a couple names doing just that. They are great pilots but there are a few names with many less votes that would better sit on team based on being competitive.

Ahhhhhhh, the end result will not be much different than before with who will be competing.....before you had the "famous" dozen that got the invite every year with a couple of LCQ's.

You are right. I didn't vote for Keven. I don't know that person.

This is so true... the one person in the jet class that has finished higher than anyone else on the team was not voted on because he was a pattern guy not a giant scale 3D guy... by far the most qualified of the pilots winning the F3S contest and placing highest in the Red Flag. But as you mentioned it was a popularity contest not a skill contest. Unfortunately he is now not on the team and only listed as an alternate. What a joke!
