hi i was just wondering if anyone knows of a cheap model plane that i could get that is easy to fly and good to learn on.
I flew my extra 330 the other day and gave it a good beating and boy was it fun but dayum im gonna need practice, otherwise the plane is gonna be costing me way too much

don't waste money on cheap planes... spend some quality time with an instructor on a buddy lead and/or get yourself a decent PC simulator that lets you hook up to your transmitter (or borrow one for a couple of weeks) and get to learn the controls that way - if you are a fast learner you will regret buying a cheap model in no time and that could be money you put towards a more advanced model in the future. The fact that you have figured out to use a computer and post here on Flying Giants indicates you are no slug and I'm sure with a bit of support from the locals you'll be competing in aerobatic competitions in no time. (I was just down in Dunedin this weekend for a comp and there were two really young guys around 12 or 13 yrs competing in sportsman)

I agree. Get or borrow a flight simulator, Buy a good .40 sized trainer, and let the addiction begin

i have a simulator and i do practice with my TX plugged in2 my pc. just thought there mite be some decent trainer planes that wont destroy the wallet....Im a student, money is rare

The .40 size will be a better "trainer" in my opinion just because the .60 will be easier to fly. And a previous poster is right you will pick it up quick and regret the $$ spent on a trainer but I considered getting another due to my long layoff. My new trainer is a 30% Yak and I will use the available more "current" pilots help to get it back going without the trainer stage again.

If I stick it, well.. I have a couple more older 30% "trainers" !!

im not sure if i could handle a fuel plane. i think i will stick with the electric. might just repair my foam extra 330 and give it another whirl

Get a 40 sized trainer and electrify it instead of using a 40 sized glow motor. Or buy an electric Trainer. Have you been out to the Dunedin club? The guys out there are very helpful and would be able to help you get flying.

if i bought a fuel trainer without the radio gear, would my receiver and transmitter from my electric work in it?

It depends on what you have. The receiver MUST be full range. If the plane you had was a foamy it most likely won't work. As for the servos, for a standard "40" size trainer you need at least 45 OZ of power.

I've flown the Addiction -A very nice plane! they are really light and a lot of fun.
