new member ?

I now show 0 trader rating and have been a member since 2004. My ORIGINAL account log in screwed up due to a "Location" problem.
I contacted Admin. but they couldn't seem to fix it. My old user was JEanes; same as RC Groups. All positive !

I understand everyone has to start at zero but to come on a site you never post in the threads and post for sale something $500-1000 come on start small and sell something for $50-$100 first. however i did buy from two folks lately on helifreak with no feedback since runryder closed down. i talked to them both a little and felt good and in the end it all went well..

I'm sure there are quite a few (such as myself)with a low or 0 rating on FG that have accounts on RCG with substantial ratings. I see more than a few listings here by the same individuals that frequent RCG.

I have a low tr here, but have been on RCG for a while, and have a respectable rating there. Sandy and I just started flying big planes recently, so came over here to learn, and do some trading. Also We have been flying together for more than 60 years, so we are able to help some of the newcomers.

I sold several items on here this past 3 weeks for the widow of my fallen flying buddy and only 1 person left a rating. That's ok tho, I am most appreciative to Thoes buyers for the purchases they made from the widow thru me....

You have to leave a rating also as I have a lot of sales with no ratings. It goes both ways

I've bought and sold hundreds of items on the RC forums and eBay over the years and it seems that people don't leave feedback like they used to, especially eBay and I'm not going to go back and ask for feedback.
The upside is my wife has no idea how much I'm buying!

The one thing that was really good on RCU (before they utterly destroyed the website) was that their Marketplace made it easy to find your transactions and leave feedback for the seller or buyer.

There would be more ratings here if it was simply easier to do. Both FG and RCG make you have to work at it to find the item, the seller/buyer, and click on them to provide feedback. If transactions were recorded (rather than transacted just as PM's and replies within the ad) then they could be listed by clicking on "MyFlyingGiants" or "MyRCGroups" at the top of the page. I usually comb thru my PMs to find the link to the original ad, then find the seller (or buyer) and submit a trader rating. I hope that by being proactive in doing this, that the person on the other end of the transaction will reciprocate and rate me, too. The reality is that probably only 1/3 or less actually bother.

In the past 15+ years on these forums, I have 87 positives on RCU and +196 on eBay. While I've likely bought and sold as much or more on FG and RCG than RCU in the past 10 years, I have a pitiful +15 trader rating here, and +19 on RCG.

I know people have to start somewhere. What makes me leery are the ones that have a trader rating but no post count. I don’t even know how that happens.

Posts in the Classifieds sections don't count towards a member's "post count" here or on RCGroups,, just the was the forum is setup
