Pilot crashes into water during an airshow in Poland

Yesterday one of the best airshow pilots in Poland Marek Szufa has died in a crash during an airshow.
He was also a modeller with many wins in giant scale models. He was also a captain of a Boeing 767 in LOT airlines. Some of you might have known him personally. I had the pleasure of knowing him and flying together with him. God bless his soul.

He was just too low- a similar crash to the one of Jim LeRoy.

Saw this yesterday. The "news" story with the video mentioned how his plane was trailing thick black smoke prior to the crash. Clearly no clue to the fact that he had smoke on as part of the flight and it was not a fire that produced it.

Here is some of Marek's handy work in the RC hobby. I had the opportunity to meet him once, what a nice guy. RIP Marek

Sorry to hear about his death...RIP

Dang near impossible to better scale out an aerobatic RC. Would've loved to see that thing up close.

That's sad. Seemed like Marek had an eye for detail/quality looking at that 40% Extra.

Marek loved everything that was connected with flying. He was an owner (or co-owner) of a 70% Curtiss Jenny and that Christen Eagle. Before he had owned a Skybolt. He was also flying CSS-13 (Po-2) and Jak (Yak) 18. He also had a nice collection of models- from that scale Extra, then CSS-13, Spitfire with liquid cooled MVVS, 3,3m Extra and lots of others. His funeral will be next week. The first probable cause- unofficial is that he had a blackout after last maneuver and had not revocered early enough. He died of internal injuries, not because of drowning.
