i estimate it will take me 6 months to 1 year to build her, i will take my time doing it.

here are some pictures:
its great to be building this from sticks vs. ARF. I wish I had gone that route, but had the ARC. Spend a lot of time fairing and such that I would not have had to do if I had built it. Additionally, able to build some of the sections differently.

Might want to think about the electric conversion on the retracts. It's very nice and shall we say authoritative.

I put the EQ6 in mine, so able to eliminate the separate ign power/switch aspect. Used the aerotech opto switch and powered off the EQ6.

Are you sure you want an DA85 on it? I'll put the radar gun to my DA60/20x15 Top Flite P51 this weekend if we do not have howling winds. From a fit perspective, the DA60 is already hanging down a bit lower than I really like, but still acceptable. The DA85 may be a rather expensive skid plate should you have a wheels up.

Hi, if you do not mind me asking, where did you get a 20 x 15 prop?

Wow orthobird, a da85 with a 20x18 prop, are you going for jet type speeds?

Well, using a static thrust calculator, and i am not certain how accurate this is, if the da 85 can get up to 6400 rpm, requiring 5.5 hp, and if i am using a 20 x 18 prop,, then the flying speed may be around 109 mph, and the thrust will be around 18 pounds or so. don't know if this will actually occur.
it will be interesting to see though.

I guess I was thinking you could get more speed than that. There is a video on YouTube of someone with a aeroworks p51 and a da 85. It looks pretty dang fast

I would think even faster. Seems like somebody told me a 40% Sbach w/ DA170 went 125-126 on radar.

I think the 40% racers running alcohol da170s are going 200+. Wouldn't that be a kick in the behind
