I am going for Scorpion motor on my EF 60 size model. EF recommends 4016T-500 (500kv) for this size. For Scorpion I have the options of motors of similar specs but either 484kv (4020-14) or 542kv (4020-12) on 6s (Jens 3700mAh). I plan to use either a 15x8 or 16x7 prop, will see.

Which one would you recommend? Which is closer to EF setup not in terms of kvs only, but in terms of overall performance.

Please advise.

As many EF planes as you fly I am surprised you just don't install the Torque/Airboss setup. Good luck though on your Scorpion quest.

Thanks for your answer. I think the Torque and Airboss setup is great and I am really amazed by Jase's videos and performance.

However, I have a special offering / sponsorship from the local Scorpion distributor so I will have to comply with that somehow. If it wasn't that, I would go with the recommended setup for sure.

So 542kv or 484kv?? :-)

Any ideas here? 542kv and 15x8 prop will be ok you think?

4020-12 is what I run in a couple of 60" EF planes. Superb power on 6S with a Xoar 15x7 prop.

Plus they can handle the AZ heat in the summer!
