That's interesting. I knew that both pattern and IMAC has restrictions on what flight assist you can use, rather not use, I didn't know pattern was more strict. I like it. It should be about plane and pilot. Not what you can program.

why wouldn't you be able to use Telemetry in pattern?
Simple rpm, amp draw, etc isn't an aid to the pilot is it?

So in Pattern, you can't use Fasstest telemetry for battery condition, or amp draw from the speedo's?

None of that is flight assist where the actual control of the plane is still the pilot and transmitter.

You are mixing Stabilization and Telemetry. Anybody can use battery capacity (mAh) and voltage monitoring. Also no problem with motor rpm and temperature or telemetry for servos.

It won't be long and all Telemetry/Stabilization gadgets will be allowed. If they can enforce it then they have to allow it. Look at the AMA sailplane rules:
2.10. Pilot Flying Aids
  • 2.10.1. Thermal sensing devices shall be permitted provided that any such device and the contestant comply with all FCC regulations and that any such device does not interfere with the conduct of the contest. No special arrangement or rearrangement of flight order, established as noted above, shall be made in consideration of such devices.

I am aware that drones, foamies, economy and other factors are killing this hobby but my point is that your threads only get a fraction of visitiors compared to the other big brands threads
did you ever ask yourself what could be the cause ?

So it wasn’t a setup issue? Or a configuration issue? Or an equipment failure other than assist? Or pilot error? And nobody crashed on Futaba, or Spektum, or JR or Hitec? I swear I don’t understand these types of posts.

Well it seems to me the most likely answer is that anyone with serious interest in Jeti, or Spektrum, or Open TX probably spends the time in the threads on RCG instead of wasting time on FG, which for whatever reason doesn’t seem to have much serious radio discussion except for Futaba. Also on RCG there are far fewer people who muck up the jeti threads by trolling Zb. As I’m sure various folks’ mothers told various folks when they were young, just because he did it first doesn’t make it right for you to do it back.

ZB,

Outside of monitoring RX voltage no other telemetry is allowed to be used in Pattern.

That is true, but data logging is fine. Also when you practice telemetry is your godsend, you can practice maneuvers and forget the time. The battery capacity monitoring is a must.

Also GPS flight path overlay in google earth gives you valuable data points and helps you make better pilot.

Jeti Data Logging and Data Display, Useful or Useless Feature? (12 min 52 sec)

wasting time on FG ?
why don't you think people there at RCG are mostly flying boring gliders and that giant aerobatics pilots are just not interested on his system despite its telemetry capabilities ?
