Futaba receivers

I recently purchase a new R617FS to replace mu R8014HS. The new receiver is really small. Was wondering if it will handle a 40% airplane. I am using a Smart Fly Power distribution board. Just a little concurred because I used to fly J R power safe .

Just my measly $0.02, but I have never seen one being used in a giant scale airplane. The 3 I see used most common and with the best of luck is the 7008SB, the old 6014, and the new 7014SB.

Why would you buy a 7-channel RX to replace a 14-channel RX? I've used the 617 in a few 50 to 70 cc planes. The main limitation of the 617 in a larger planes is not having enough ports for the servos needed.

Having said that, the 617 is my all around favorite RX. Mine have always served me well in planes, helis and gliders.

No reason to be concerned about reliability with it. I do agree with Judge, why replace a 14ch RX with it? I know guys that use R6202sbw RX's in big fast jets..

Yes, no problem with that combination.
