Sounds good. That prop works good with your motor/muffler combo. The CG sounds like a great place to start. Now just for your flight report.

Hey cjcyclersrc

Not sure on the balance yet, but did stick it on the scale and its at 18.3 lb
Buy lifting it on to the scale it does seem that the cg is a bit aft. Will check it once I get the pipe fully mounted and a new tru-turn spinner (w/solid back-plate). Started the motor today with out the pipe and header (loud) and the engine needs a bit tweaking. Died at low throttle, but I guess I should wait until the header and pipe are on.

Geetings all, from the Great White North.

Today, I'm beginning construction of this great aircraft and am armed with all 134 posts of guidance that comes from this thread. Many thanks to all for your time and sharing.

Now, where did I put those new # 11 blades?

The brown truck should be dropping mine off this week. This weekend I went around to the LHS and the LHS (local hardware store). I have a set of those titanium axles from Troy Built and the hobby shop had the Sullivan 3.5" wheels with plastic hubs. They say they are 2.2oz and they are narrower than the dubro wheels.

Also I got the fuel tank sorted out:

Glad to hear that you're starting one too! You'll love it!

As far as the #11 blades, I have a problem finding them myself... :-)

Have fun! Be sure to post some pics!

Did you check both front pockets and both of your hands? I have always found them the last place I look.

Looks like there is a shortage of 4" Ultimate Tru-Trun spinners out there!!!
Any one have a good trick to drill matching holes in those CF spinners?

Do the ball links that come with the kit match the threads in the SWB arms? Do they come with nylon lock nuts?

Use the tape trick that the EF manual uses to position the cowl bolt drilling positions.

No you have to tap out the SWB arm slightly to get the bolt to go through. They come with nylon lock nuts for the other side but I still use loctite on em. Haven't had any problems.

What bottle and cap set up is your fuel tank ? Where did you get the parts ?

I replaced the ball links on the servo arm side with standard 4-40 ball links but used the rest. They are mm so slightly different but no use throwing them all about. They dont get changed very often

Thanks for the info, I can get some alternate ball links so I don't mess up the SWB arms.

There is a whole thread on the fuel tanks. It's a Sullivan heavy duty tank assembly and a 20oz water bottle (Smart Water in this case). It only weighs 2oz.

Hi propchief,

No drilling the cf spinner its self. The back plate I can do with the prop drill jig. Its transferring the hole locations up to the spinner without misalignment.

The best I can think of is to measure from the back plate to the center of the holes and mark a line all the way around then do some sort of templet on the computer and transfer the lines up. Then drill by hand. I guess that is the way to do it!
