Shortage of RC products

With the virus spreading all over China and most of our RC products coming from China I think we are going to see a lot of companies out of stock on products.

I know that the two companies I buy from are closed for I don't know how long.I had a order in with one of them but was not shipped before they closed and they do not know when they will be back open.

So if you think you will need something in the near future and someone has it in stock I would suggest you order it before it is out of stock.

I hate to see this for everyone.......but maybe this is a sign that we all need to start buying made in America again......it is dangerous that we have to depend on another for almost everything in this country.......what’s even crazier is we depend on China for a lot of our Military Supplies and our Personal Medication.

I have done a little searching on how long the virus can live on a surface in the link below.

How many RC products are make in the US but they have some of there parts made out of the US.

Some high end RC engines and a few other products.

There are some that say made in the us but some of the parts to produce them are made in China but assembled in the US

We had to make them in the US before we can do it again.......everyone that wants to keep flying might have to build from kits again......I know that’s not a good business model for you guys......I hate it for everyone!

Jet airframes in particular are pretty much unavailable right now unless you find someone that happens to have what you want in stock. Since most of the airframes are built and painted to order there’s not a lot of stock out there. I ordered a plane on 11/4, at the time I was hoping it would ship just before the Chinese New Year but I was told the factory got shut down the week before CNY. I heard on the news it could be another 6 weeks or more before they start allowing them back to work. What was supposed to be a 12 week wait is now probably going to be at least 6 months.

I’m a somewhat mild germaphobe so was wondering if there’s a chance the virus could survive on the plane during shipping and over here. I thought about canceling the order just because of that...

Survival of similar corona virus (SARS/MERS) is estimated to be up to nine days on surfaces, so I wouldn't much worry about that if your plane ships by boat.

Quite a few of RC airplane models are manufactured In Guangzhou, and is quite a ways from Hubei province. Most of China has been shut down for quite awhile. Taxiways and ramps at most airports are full of parked jets. The foreign contract pilots in China have been laid off. There’s a lot going on that you’re not seeing in the news.
