Just wonder if anyone has had a Peak Models planes. They seem to be price right but are they not very good quality. Just wondering

A friend of mine has the 50cc yak. He loves the plane. The landing gear plate needs some beefing up but other than that is a good plane for the money.

Re: Peak Models

I have a 25% Extra 260 from Peak. Nice plane except for the covering. The covering is a no-name generic and started peeling almost immediately. I almost bought a 30% Edge from them. I passed and got a 3dHobbyshop plane. The Peakmodels plane was similiar to a Hanger 9 ARF. The 3dHobbyshop plane is in a completely different league. It oozes quality.

I`ve got the 25% Yak and two of the 25% SU26ms. Great planes. Standard ARF shortcomings, landing gear plate, soft gear, etc.. Awesome planes for the money.

I have a 50cc Yak 55sp from peakmodels and it's a blast to fly. It's not close to the quality of 3DHS or EF but it arrived at my door for $499. Covering completely sucks but the rest of the plane has held up nicely to some pretty aggressive flying.

Re: Peak Models

some of the younger kids at our field have the 26cc version yak 54 and i tell you what... it really flies nice! i was surprised to see how nice it was. the covering does leave a bit to be desired as it comes loose relatively easy and the plane needs quite a bit of mixing to be "true". but for the $$ it is a pretty nice little rig.

Re: Peak Models

Any updates to this as some time have passed. Maybe more buyers now.

I'm looking for my first gasser and 30% is about the size I want to stick with.

The Combo (yak or Extra) with DLE-55 at $779 shipped is reallllllly attractive and ive almost pulled the plug a few times.

What do you guys think, has quality improved?
