Not so nice about the packaging quality 2 years later....

I have finally ordered mine and it should be hear this week. I usually fly aerobatic and 3D, but recently moved to some property that has enough room to fly from, but is bumpy as hell. DuBro 6” wheels and PR struts and tailwheel will be installed also.

Sorry not being here for some time. Yes i like it so much i re-build it and flying more than before again. I'm sure you will too.

Gas engine alignment question

I am planning on mounting an RCGF 20RE to my CUB. This is only my second gas plane assembly, can someone give me a hint on how to align the motor mounts to the gas engine wood mount.

My previous assembly was on a Ugly Stick, no cowl alignment required... a little bit easier.

Looks like that is a beam mounted gas engine, much like the nitro engines. I'm guessing the beam mount differs from the original spacing, so other than just eyeballing it....here's one primitive way to do it;
Tape the cowl on where it looks like it should go, measure the distance from the firewall to the front face of the cowl then add about a 1/8" to that for spinner clearance.
Tack your motor mount onto your engine with med CA so the distance from the front face of the hub and the base of the beam mount measure the distance you discovered earlier.
Stand the plane up on it's tail. The engine will now stay in place without any bolts. eyeball the centerline with the factory marks. tape it there.
Try putting your cowling on. You can use the paper/cardstock method to trim the cowling so the cowl can go on over the engine. (take the muffler off, and tape over the exhaust port)
Once fitted you can move the cowling and engine to find the perfect happy spot. remove the cowl, mark the engine mount holes, drill , and mount the engine. Then double check your cowling, use the paper/cardstock method to drill the holes in the cowl.
Hope that helps??

Did use the marks on the fire wall sub assembly. Straight forward.

If it's anything like the VVRC 20cc - and I think they're close if not identical - you can bolt it straight to the engine mounts that came with the airplane and mount it per the instructions for the 15cc. Very straightforward.
