Dan, it's one of those things that once you try one, it becomes a necessity for every future project. very simple, reliable, and easy to install.

Here's some pictures of my build. As for the starter I'm either going to trim the hole in cockpit rubber channel or I have thought about cutting a smaller wheel pant to fit the hole. Then fiberglass it in.
On the upper left cowl screw the spark plug takes the access away. I'll get a picture of what I did with a du-bro rod-guide to remedy the situation.

Nice pics. Looks to be coming along well. Wish the starter motor was in another place so the cowl didn’t need to be changed.

Other than the starter not fitting in the cowl, did you have any issues mounting the Eme 70 twin?
I am planning to use the etched horizontal line on the firewall, and center it laterally. Looks like I will need about 10mm standoffs.

I didn't feel comfortable with the stock firewall so I added 3/8 birch plywood for a doubler. And in a few places I put triangle stock in the corners.

if the top of the motor box is open, you want to add a top to the box to create a bit more rigidity. otherwise, my experience with various Pilot ARFs is that the stock firewalls are fine. you should be able to fashion motor standoffs pretty easily either with nylon spacers or plywood. on the TA IBEC, I don't use the black plastic insert, but simply drill a hole where the LED fits snugly and simply push it in. makes it much easier to remove. no glue needed!

I know Im not on the subject BUT, has anyone used a Prolux voltage regulator? Are they any good?

The only Voltage regs ive used are Formeco or Duralite both excellent units

So im thinking of going with the Traditional Red, White black scheme, (as below picture) from what ive seen its covered in Flame red ultr cote but thinking of changing to the True red ultracote, As its a little more darker and true to the full size color, I think.

Does anyone have a picture of there decathlon like this scheme that captures the color (Flame red) as it is in real life? Just dont want it to be an orange red. and i see hanger 9 went with true red on there decath and that looks spot on.

Cheers for that, Its were i got my color listings from , Red is a hard color to capture on camera and just want to make sure that the flame red looks good in person as the photos ive seen. and what im after.

the picture in post 522 is true red, the same color that was used by Hangar 9, and the same as my Pilot Decathlon. I would suggest that you confirm the colors before you place the order.
