I'm with Gale on the drone thing....

My number is printed on a 1/4" label and on the underside of the elevator hinge line.

Judging school is less than two weeks away. Didn't even see it creeping up this quick. Looking at the weather we will see what the Sunday portion looks like. I won't be putting skis on my plane and I haven't flown since October.

Hey all, I got this today in my email in box from IMAC... please read and lets get this going! We however do need more clarification on this process. I hope that Clark, Michael, Rick and the boys can fill us in during the upcoming judging school... PLEASE sign up to attend and learn more. I always pick up something new to look for while judging.

From IMAC HQ!
IMAC Press Release - February 2019
The International Miniature Aerobatic Club (IMAC) announced that a new level was added to its competition classes starting January 1, 2019.

The new class (Novice) being a noncompetitive class has been added to provide new prospective members to fly at an IMAC Event, without the pressure of the competition portion of the event.

This new class will allow the pilot to participate along with the Basic Class, receive help from more experienced pilots and fly in the actual event, without being scored against the more experienced pilots.

When asked about this change, Vice-President Doug Pilcher remarked, “We hope this will encourage pilots that have any interest in IMAC Competition to give IMAC a try. This gives them an avenue to learn what IMAC is about, without worrying about the stress of not knowing the details of how to compete.
We will have a more experienced pilot mentor them, so that they can be ready to enter into a competition class with confidence.”

This change, along with the International Growth, positions IMAC to have a healthy membership increase for 2019. “We are excited at the new changes and prospects for another great year”, says President, Mike Karnes.

For this to succeed every Contest Director MUST do the work. They need to send out the invitations to their area clubs and let them know about IMAC and get them to visit and see what we are all about.

We will discuss the novice class at judging school.

They have also been some changed to the freestyle. This is something that would be great to grow in the NW.

Re Sunday: Looks like forecast is sunny but cold. Is the runway usable or full of snow?

Guys - as much as I would like to reschedule because of weather, I can't. I have had the room reserved for over a year now and every other weekend is booked. Storms are supposed to be done by Thursday. All those traveling please drive safe.

With the weather forecast there most likely won't be any flying on Sunday.

Saturday is at the Richland Library at 9:00 am. Getting Subway for lunch. Sounds like Ron and Dawn are bringing Spudnuts...

UPDATE

Yes, judging school is on. Good news in the snow has stopped and none forecast through the weekend. This will be Saturday only being that the high for Sunday is 24 degrees... Sorry boys, but I'm not flying in that...it's half my minimum flying temperature.

I'm bringing airplanes (mostly because they were already in the car)... with a low of 12F Saturday night it would be tough on the fingers Sunday morning... guess I'll drive back home and fly where the Sunday high is forecast at 43F.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Looks like we might get to fly this weekend. I went out last week and there was still 15 inches of snow in the pit area. It was 65 here yesterday, supposed to be in the 60's the next few days.

That's good to hear that the snow is finally melting. I hope to get up there before the contest on Thursday to be able to learn the sequence and then practice on Friday. Twill be an interesting non conventional start to the season. I hope that everybody else is getting in some flying and learning their sequences.
