Pattern Kit Plane

Any sources for Pattern Planes besides Insight RC and Eureka?

Looking into the Lightning by Jeff Carder but want to see what else is out there.

Not looking for an ARF.

Assuming you are talking recent 2m ships, I have only seen the same. I am looking at the Cadence with a DA35.

Interesting. I have an EME35 that is doing nothing at the moment.

The thing that turns me off on that plane is the funky jig building that is required for it. Also the price seems steep, as it seems like an older design. Id be willing the pay the $500 for a current technology plane.

Current technology plane meaning similar to the construction process that JTEC now puts out for theirs? That would be nice! The Insight Cadence plans are available for $69. But I see your point. I am going to go a bit different direction and use composite panels for the fuse layup. Should be the same weight as the wood construction, but a ton more strength - better for the DA 35 in my opinion. Was going to build an insight v4 as a proof of concept. Still working over the insight v4 plans to make sure it will all work out like I have it in my head... haha.

Not necessarily build tech more of engineering tech for how they fly. It seems like this kit fits in a bit better in the 5 year ago designs compared to what is being offered in arf’s currently. I’m actually pretty dumb when it comes to this so it’s just my observation based on aesthetics.

Wish there was a current design wood kit for a da35 on a pipe!

CA model also offers many of their planes in kit form. Meaning that you get a composite fuse which you will have to build the wings and stabs plus all the other finish work..

Too bad you don't know anyone with the cad skills and engineering background who could make that happen...

No CAD work here, this airplane was built from hand drawings.
