DA-100 Low Needle Adjustment

I have a DA-100 with about four gallons of Lawn Boy @ 32:1 through it.

I had a lot of burble at about 1/3 throttle. So I turned the low needle in about 1/8 turn and ran the engine and checked transition from low to high throttle. I repeated the process until the engine would quit during the low to high transition. Then I backed off by 1/8 turn.

By the time I completed the above process, the needle had been turned in a little over 1/2 turn. My question is: Does it seem weird to have to lean it this much?

I think you have done the process perfectly. Lean the low-end until the transition hesitates or quits, then richen it up and you should be very close to perfect. I have found the factory settings to be quite rich.

Nope, , but you could have done it about 3 7/8 gallons back, the first time you flew it...
There is nothing to be gained by running a gasser that rich right from the start....Except maybe some excess carbon....

Unfortunately Max, my toys and crib as a child were all painted with lead paint -- I do everything slow.

Is there a need to adjust the high end needle? Is the factory setting for the high end very rich?
